The Band: This was the very first story I wrote. The anchor piece as it were. The Band is the story of a group of terrorists operating in an area of space known as The Golan. Here at the very edges of settled space, the Imperium has finally returned to restore order and stability after the depredations of the Grindilhorde. Many of the fringe planets rejoice at the return of the Imperium, not realizing that the Horde had already been defeated before the Imperium arrived. Not all of the local governments are happy, and some have already, in secret, begun funding the opposition to hamper the return of Imperial rule. The Band is the story of that group of terrorists, the ones who kept fighting after the Horde collapsed at Grindil’s Gap, the ones who maintained their network of anti-grindil allies.

You know…THE BAND.

The Band - Style "D" Poster (2002)

This is the culmination of 10 years of practice, just trying to get what I saw down as accurate as possible. Starting at the top we have Janet Xion, wearing the crossbow/glaive thing that entech’d itself to her nervous system when they stole the Imperial Treasury Ship Paradise just prior to the events of the Band. On Janets right is Cyran Blackhood, “The Man With the Silver Arm”, an ancient creature, known as Strife, born of the most taboo of ancient practices, the merging of science, flesh and magic, long forbidden, he has journeyed 1000 years to find his master once again. No one around him knows any of this. On Janet’s right with the bow and arrow is Marke Xion, Janet’s twin. His children become even more renowned than himself. Below Janet’s glaive, is Princess Abbigail of House Haldrian. She flees with the Band after they had rescued her from Grimlor Umada and the SLMU. She and Corey have a serious case of young love going. Next row starting on the left we have the freed slave Loshka, Next to her, with a plasma blade and rocking glasses we have Corey, a young orphan who possess some Extra Sensory Hoodoo. He is pursued by the Knightmare Hunters followed by the Quistorious. Next to Corey with the curly red hair, is Tika Klutz, a young freedom fighter harboring a terrible secret. Next to her wrapped in a green snake illusion is the fallen Quisitor, Benjiman Klaintek. Fleeing what ever horrible past is always just behind him. Below Ben, we have the blue-skinned Terry Quin, an expert in security protocols and one of the best thieves in the Golan. Next to him in the crimson armor is Mike Klutz, leader of the Band. He is Tika’s father. Sorta. Below Commander Klutz are the “barbarian” natives of Prison 6, Matia and Drizzit Dour’den, who helped the Band escape captivity and then stormed the Quisitorious vessel Bastille. And last but not least we have the shaman Bomdaboom, who kicked this whole thing off when he sent Corey away to keep him out of the Grand Quisitor greedy, clutching hand.
